It’s the group of cars they are benchmarking.
“The benchmark fleet of vehicles, which Scaringe now drives on rotation since he doesn’t currently own a vehicle of his own, includes the

Like, the group is impressive, but a Raptor? Yes, it will beat it in acceleration but for things like ride quality, longevity in range, and the fact that the Raptor is meant to be an offroad beast, I don’t know man. But does this mean Rivian is hinting at a run at Baja? The world may never know /s

One thing that irks me is how pervasive text short hand is. I don’t mind it when communicating via text, but I don’t like it in normal communication.

which Scaringe now drives on rotation

They’re building a fast & comfy on-road while still competent off-road vehicle that will sell for $75k - $100k. They’re benchmarking competitors in the same class. Argruably the Porch & Tesla for on-road manners, the other two for off-road.
I don’t see the problem here in theory . It’s definitely a lofty goal though.

I think that list shows they’re comparing it against a variety of different vehicles, rather than just Tesla or something. It shows they don’t want it to be a one-trick pony.
They may be using the Raptor to benchmark suspension or off-road capability. Sure the Raptor can drive fast off-road, but aside from size, its also really good off-road.
